Air Cleaners are up to 90% efficient at capturing airborne particles. That's up to 10 times more efficient compared to standard one-inch filters MERV 8 Efficiency. Air Cleaners can remove particles as small as 0.3 microns (the diameter of a human hair is 100 microns) whereas standard filters typically only remove particles 10 microns and larger. The filter in mechanical air cleaners typically needs replacement once or twice a year where typical filters need to be replaced once every three months. The permanent washable filter in the Electronic Air Cleaners does not have to be replaced.
Air Cleaners can enhance indoor air quality by capturing airborne particles such as pollen, mold spores, pet dander, and other common allergens. They can even help to reduce your cleaning by capturing small "stain particles" which can soil carpets, drapes, walls and furniture. It also prevents "small staining particles" from coating your system's coil which can drastically reduce it's efficiency. All in all, air cleaners help to protect your heating and cooling equipment to maintain your system's optimum efficiency.
